Assessment
Definition
A structured evaluation of skill competence, either through peer sessions or employer-initiated skill checks. Assessments produce evidence that feeds into SCI computation.
Why it matters
Traditional assessments (exams, coding challenges) measure performance in artificial conditions. Skill assessments through peer sessions capture ability in more natural, collaborative settings.
How Lemma uses this
Lemma supports two assessment modes: organic peer sessions (self-initiated) and employer-initiated assessments through the Developer API, where companies can invite candidates for skill verification.
